Just a quick mail to say a huge thanks for everything. The day went perfect. The hotel staff were excellent and the day was stress free and easy going. Thanks to Dennis and Karim aswell. The band got a bit stressed because they couldnt set up when they wanted but it didnt bother us in the slightest!
Everything in the hotel got a big thumbs up from the guests, the staff, food, bar, room, bedrooms couldnt find a fault anywhere....well done. The guests couldn't get enough smabos when we arrived! We'll call out soon with photos. Thanks again Alison.
I just thought I would send a quick note to say a huge thank you for such an epic wedding reception! We are delighted to say it was handled impeccably throughout the whole process. From the original booking up until the day itself, we were made to feel like ours was the only wedding in the world. nothing was too small an issue and all our needs were catered for very well. Below is a list of individual thanks we would like to hand out:
- Alison, you balanced a very friendly yet professional relationship with us which made us feel extremly comfortable all the way through the process. Thank you for all the help and flexibility, you were the oil in the engine! I would also like to pass out our thanks on the rest of the Portmarnock team who provided an amazing service through and through. Compliments are also due to the kitchen team, who consistently produced a very high standard of food which I can happily say everyone enjoyed. A special mention to Dennis, who acted as our coordinator/floor manager on the night. His attentiveness and smooth direction aided to the best day of our lives.
- Nice one Pat! Thanks for being so patient and helping us get all the good shots...Zoolander would be prous! It was nice to have a friendly, down to earth, yet professional photographer who clearly knew his stuff! We had great fun clicking away and we can't wait to see the photo book, which we know will be great....so great in fact, it will be reprinted in bride magazine with blue steel on the front cover!
- Cheers Philip, the flowers looked beautiful and they pretty much appeared out of nowhere! Nicole was over the moon with her bouquet and you supplied us with, exactly what we needed. You displayed true knowledge and really helped us decide what we wanted.
- Thanks Thomas - Thanks for such a lovely ride in the car, you both were beautifully presented! This was a very enjoyable part of our wedding, especially when we were "papped" in the back! The champers was also a great touch...a great stress reliever!
- Thank you Dave for the sore legs and great tunes well into the early hours. A nicely balanced set catering for all – perfect… except when it ended!
When we decided to go for this venue for our wedding we knew that we are going for a lovely hotel with an amazing landscape, but we didn't really know what to expect in terms of staff. Alison started working with us very close to our wedding date, after our previous wedding coordinator left her position. At first, we were pretty stressed about this change however we realized very quickly that we were in good hands.
Alison was so professional, replied to every email and phone call, while fulfilling every request we had, which were sometimes different and new for her due to the fact it was an Irish-Israeli wedding and we wanted to combine both traditions.
On the day, Alison and Denis did a great job and everything went according to plan, with no hick-ups at all! Food was just amazing, and many guests commented on the fact that everything tasted lovely!

We held our wedding at the Portmarnock Links Hotel on Saturday 12th May 2012, and i can honestly say from the start of our wedding planning we were taken with the Portmarnock Links Hotel, with their friendly approach and ease at which they listened to our needs, ideas and plans.
We met Alison Eivers, half way through our planning as our previous wedding co-ordinator had taken up new employment, and from the moment we met Alison we hit it off! Alison listened to what we would like to achieve as we were not having the conventional wedding or the wedding in a box, we would put the day together ourselves, and Alison had the ideas, patience and understanding to co-ordinate it all and help make the day special. Every meeting we had throughout the process of planning we found Alison to be extremely professional and always willing to incorporate any ideas we had, we listened to her voice of experience and usually went with her ideas.
We had a spiritual ceremony in the hotel and a drinks reception, and buffet style evening meal, the food was fantastic, every guest raved about how tender the beef was even though it was buffet style, and also the choices everyone had, it was different for most of our guests, and they really enjoyed this format for a wedding, it made the day a lot more relaxed and everyone felt it was a great idea. The service was amazing, and everything ran smoothly, our operations manager Ludmila was very professional and worked throughout the entire day, supervising and leading the staff, even though she was 8 months pregnant, she never tired and was there to see to everything, no stone was left unturned. (i hope all went well and I'm sure you must have had your baby now, our congratulations to you and thank you so much for everything) :)
Our guests who stayed in the hotel were delighted with the newly refurbished rooms and everyone agreed they would stay again, all members of staff were extremely polite and the level of service was excellent in all departments. Our bridal suite was beautiful and we had plenty of room to get the wedding party ready there, the views are beautiful from the room, highly recommended! The secret garden also gave us some beautiful pictures on the day, we were very lucky as the sun was shining for us :)
Once again, i would not have a hesitation of recommending the Portmarnock Links Hotel to any couple for a wedding it was amazing from beginning to end, and i would like to thank you all for the wonderful job you did in creating our special day for us.
I look forward to our 1st Anniversary return stay!

I can not believe it is almost a year since our wonderful wedding in Portmarnock hotel & golf links. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you again for making our special day such a success! All our guests were delighted, the food was fabulous and all the staff were so helpful and pleasant. Everyone who stayed that night was really impressed. Thank you as well for being so available during the preparation and to have make it really hassle free for me.
I just wanted to email you to say a huge thank you to you and all the staff at Portmarnock for making our wedding day, and the entire weekend, so wonderful and unforgettable. I really cannot fault anything about the hotel, and we found the staff went out of their way for us. I had a large number of family members and guests travelling for the wedding, who all commented on the great service, wonderful rooms and friendly staff – everyone was so impressed. I also want to thank you for all your help in the months leading up to the wedding, dealing with you as the wedding co-ordinator and Kerli for reservation requirements really made my task of organising the wedding so easy, and very enjoyable! I really appreciate all you guys did for us. I also found the ‘wedding in a box’ concept a great help in organising the day. I will be sending emails to the suppliers and will copy you in, so you can get feedback in terms of how we felt about the suppliers too. In terms of the events we had the night before and day after, the catering team were just brilliant and everyone raved about the food – I really could not have asked more from the hotel. Everyone has said what a great time they had at our wedding, and I really think this is in most part due to the fantastic staff at Portmarnock for making our day so wonderful. Please extend our thanks to all staff involved with our wedding. A huge thank you!
All settled back down after the big day and we just wanted to thank you and all the staff for making it fantastic for us. Your attention through the run up and on the day itself was outstanding everything was perfect and all requests fulfilled. Anyone I have spoken to since has highly commended all the staff from the waiters and bar staff to reception and even the small coffee area behind reception we could have been anyone but where treated like royalty. All the suppliers linked in with you where just amazing from the consultation with amazing cakes, Philip Wynn for the flowers to the day itself, also Dave the D.J, they stayed in touch and gave us all the time we needed with everything. I have to say Pat from Photohouse and Michael our driver went above and beyond what was required and made the day a lot of fun for us (Michael even followed us around with a brolly while getting photos taken in case we needed it and helped Pat out with the photo's they where such a great laugh). But your waiting staff at the meal deserve a medal!! all where so nice but one girl in particular and we cannot remember her name (I have a photo of her) was just amazing, she was attentive to the children and accommodating to everyone so we would like to recognise her, she has blonde hair and waited mainly on the kids table on the day (she actually slipped out for batteries for one of the guests camera at one stage!!). We'll never be able to thank you and your staff enough for such a super memorable day.
