Afternoon Tea by the Sea
One of life’s most luxurious occasions and something to truly look forward to
Traditionally, a favourite occasion here at Portmarnock Hotel & Golf Links with residents and locals alike, we will be serving a new take on Afternoon Tea in our Seaview Lounge. Visitors can expect specially selected Irish teas, a delicious assortment of small cakes, pastries and sumptuous savouries, and of course the option of a few glasses of bubbles for those in a celebratory mood.
Originally invented by the 7th Duchess of Bedford in 19th Century England to stave off the mid-afternoon "sinking feeling", Afternoon Tea has become a much-loved tradition and one we feel should be honoured to experience while overlooking the Irish coast from the panoramic windows of one of the best views in the house, the Seaview Lounge.
There isn't a better Place to enjoy a leisurely afternoon with friends than At Dublin's Only Coastal Resort.
Afternoon Tea is available 1 pm until 3:30pm every Friday to Sunday
Introducing our brand new themed Afternoon Tea..
The Secret Garden Afternoon Tea Experience
Our Secret South Garden was an area where the Jameson whiskey family entertained many a guest.
King Edward VII often visited the Jamesons at their beachside home and on his last official visit to Ireland in 1907, he unveiled a plaque which was designed especially to celebrate the marriage between members of two great distilling families, Jameson and Haig, back in 1788. The plaque stands in the Secret South Garden of the hotel grounds.
Our kitchen team have been inspired by these stories of times gone by and have put together a delightful afternoon tea experience inspired by our secret garden.
